Beekeeping provides you with honey and a satisfying hobby. It also provides pollinators for your nearby gardens/orchards. Honey can obviously be eaten or cooked with, and can be fermented to make mead. Beeswax can be used to make candles and used in soapmaking, among other uses. Pollen and propolis can be collected from hives and have been used as supplements. Rearing queen bees can provide a second line of income. Etc, etc, etc.
